June 10 - 14
In this workshop, participants will complete at least two larger-than-life-sized allegorical heads. Through demonstrations and problem-solving strategies, Chalmers will encourage students to extend their hollow-building construction skills by considering various surface treatments: low-tech image transfer, sgraffito, stenciling, glazing, and mixed-media finishes. Working with added imagery, symbolic objects and other elements, students will explore the expressive and narrative possibilities of clay portraits. Beginners welcome.
Space is limited to 10 students.
