Sculptural Flats with Shannon Sullivan

JUNE 4th - 8th

This class will explore intricacies of working for the wall, including ideas about custom hardware and mounting options. Shannon Sullivan will demonstrate hand building, casting and throwing techniques she uses to create her wall disks, interactive artworks and installations, and offer strategies for combining multiple clay bodies and applying underglaze and slip in the greenware stage. Participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate on a large-scale wall mural. The course will conclude with students constructing small- to-medium-sized sculptural wall works, to be bisqued and shipped after the workshop has ended. Space is limited to 10 students.
