July 9 - 13: Narrative Clay: Combining 2-D & 3-D with Jason Walker

JULY 9th - 13th

If you love making objects, and want to learn how to combine 3-dimensional pieces with drawing and painting, this workshop is for you. Walker will demonstrate hand-building techniques, and show participants how to use underglazes to paint and draw on 3-D forms. Students will start by constructing small forms; mid-week, Walker will present conceptual and practical approaches to combining painted imagery and/or decoration with ceramic forms. The latter part of the week will focus on painting and drawing: each participant will receive one-on-one instruction, working alongside Walker as he makes and paints a piece of his own. Participants should bring tools for basic clay construction, and watercolor brushes for painting. All levels are welcome: space is limited to 10 students.

Sales tax included in price. Workshop participants receive lunch each day, a 20% discount on supplies and a 10% discount on gallery items.

Refund policy: Workshop reservations may be canceled up to 30 days before the start date without penalty. Reservations canceled less than 30 days before the start date will incur a 30% charge.
