Arroya Brown is a unique specialty glaze that, when applied over any unfired matte or gloss, will generate a rough, broken brown surface that shows the color of the base glaze between the cracks.
AMACO's textured Arroya glazes can be used over gloss and matte unfired glazes to produce unique "carved" effects when fired. They should be applied with a fully-loaded fan blender for all-over coverage, or with a sponge when using a pouncing method. The heavier the application, the larger the break-up effect and the more matte the finish.
