White Earthenware Sculpture (WES) low-fire clay is, according to James Marshal, "tough, resilient and forgiving: excellent for all hand-building techniques, and ideally suited for the construction of large sculptural forms." This clay resists warping and cracking, can be smoothed to a tight surface and works well with commercial low-fire glazes. It should be fired to cone 04 (at which it exhibits approximately 7% shrinkage).
